Our very own King of the allotment, Blazej’s 3 year journey at Roots reflects the growth that comes from trust, opportunity, and persistence. What began with quiet curiosity has developed into confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility.
At 13, he first came to Roots as a quiet young person – the first to peer through the window of the Project Room. Initially unsure of himself, he was equally curious. Since then, he has earned the trust of everyone at Roots, becoming a keyholder across all of our premises.
Roots has helped Blazej grow into a grounded, confident, and mature role model and is highly regarded by fellow members of the group.
Through opportunities such as the Routes project, he overcame his fear of heights and has since become one of the main builders at Lanzalotty, demonstrating resilience, leadership, and a strong belief in himself.
Everything has changed for me! It’s improved my social skills, taught me real life skills like DIY and drilling, and given me opportunities that felt more valuable than school; you should see the decking I built at Lanzalotty!
My first impression of Roots was that it was really enjoyable, fun, and full of drama! A place where I could make new memories and experiences.
