King of the Spuds!

Tyler has been coming to Project since 2023, introduced to us by his sister Hollie. He loves coming to Project as he is a budding artists and he has access to the huge art cupboard and all of the different colouring pens, paints and pencils. He loves making new friends and hanging out with his older brother Jack and playing football, cards and scooting around the car park.

On a Sunday, Tyler is our King of the Spuds! He comes to the allotment with Jack and thoroughly enjoys digging, planting, feeding the birds and learning all about nature. He says “I really love nature because everything is a living creature – even us!”. One favourite part of the allotment for Tyler is sharing beef and horseradish snacks with Project Manager Claire, as it’s “like having a roast dinner!”

Roots and Me...

Who at Roots has had the biggest impact on you, and why?

Everyone at Roots Projects are so friendly and supportive! Everyone has made a big effort to include me in all of the activities and make me feel able to take part and encourage me to achieve lots of different things I would not normally do.

If you had to describe Roots in three words, what would they be?

Fun, exciting and happiness. I really love coming to all the different activities as I make new friends and can have a go at new things. This makes me feel really happy.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about coming for the first time?

That it’s fun and there’s loads to do and you can learn new things and make new friends
